Off-Site Access to SJMC Library Resources

Off-site Access with Commonspirit email and Password!!

All SJMC staff and Physicians can use Cmmonspirit email and Password to sign into the library resources remotely(OKTA Login), once they activated their Commonspirit email and network password. 

Two options for  Off-Site Access: (OKTA Login requires OKTA Verify App to get a code) 

Option 1: Google & Bookmark St. Joseph’s Medical Center Medical Library Scroll down and click “Medical Library’s Online Resources” and sign in with OKTA or Openathens credentials  

Option 2:  Google/Access through SJMC Library Libguides.  Click the resource you need to access and choose either OKTA Login or OpenAthens Login. And then choose  "access via OpenAthens or Institution" (wording may vary) on the publisher's website (St. Joseph’s Medical Center, CommonSpirit Health, or Dignity Health)

**Please note: If you are accessing a resource directly through a publisher’s website without going through SJMC Medical Library Search (e.g., JAMA, NEJM. AORN, AJN, etc),  look for “institutional login” (wording may vary), and type in St. Joseph’s Medical Center” from the institution list, select and log in using either OKTA Login or Personal Login (OpenAthens)

Off -Site Access to Individual Database

Please Note: SJMC users may create an OpenAthens account if singing in with CSH email and password is not available for remote access

Access Series: AccessAnesthesiology, AccessMedicine, Access Emergency, AccessSurgery

  • Go to each database website on your internet browser and sign in with your personal account or institutional log in (OKTA or OpenAthens)

Case Files Collections (CFC)

  • Register for MyProfile in Case Files Collection or any Access Series databases using Commonspirit Health assigned email address and CSH computer. 
  • sign in to  MyProfile for remote access.
  • OR sign in via OpenAthens and find St. Jospeh's Medical Center. Sign in via OKTA or OpenAthens.

    • Please note: It is required to create and sign into Myprofile to answser to cases or reveiw questions. 

ClinicalKey Anywhere

  1. Register for a personal account on.ClinicalKey using your Commonspirit Health email and computer.  If you do not have a Commonspirit Health email, contact your librarian. 
  2. To access CK off site, you still Apply for remote access or Click on your profile icon in the top right corner and then click on “Remote Access.” while still on CSH network. 
  3. Provide your Commonspirit Health email address. Select “Dignity Health - Remote Access.” 
  4. Check your Commonspirit Health email to confirm and activate your remote access. 
  5. Complete your login process with CSH email and password you created for remote access. 
  6. Now you can download the ClinicalKey app. 
    • Please note that you will need to log-in  to app while on CSH network periodically in order to maintain remote access.

Cochrane Library Anywhere

  • Register for an account on Cocharane Library using your Commonspirit Health assigned email address and CSH computer. 
  • Login anywhere for remote access.
  • OR sign in via your intitution and find St. Jospeh's Medical Center. Sign in via OKTA or OpenAthens.

JAMA and JAMA Network  Anywhere

  • Register for an account on JAMA and JAMA Network using your Commonpsirit Health assigned email address while on CSH computer.
  •  Sign into your personal account you created for remote access.
  • OR sign in via your intitution and find St. Jospeh's Medical Center. Sign in via OKTA or OpenAthens. 

New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) Anywhere

  • Register for an account on NEJM using your Commonpsirit Health assigned email address while on CSH computer.
  • Sign in to your personal account you created for remote access.
  • OR sign in via your institution and Find St. Joseph's medical center. Sign in with OKTA or OpenAthens

Psychiatry Online

  • Register for a personal account at Psychiatry Online using your CSH email while on St. Josph's comoputer.
  • OR sign in via OpenAthens and find St. Joseph's Medical Center and sign into OKTA or  OpenAthens account

PubMed@SJMC

  • Bookmark PubMed@SJMC on your computer and get easy access to full text articles with your OpenAthens Account.
  • MyNCBI: If you haven't already, create a My NCBI account on http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/
    • My NCBI is a tool that retains user information and database preferences to provide customized services for many NCBI databases. It allows you to save searches, select display formats, filtering options, and set up automatic searches that are sent by e-mail.
  • If you already have a MyNCBI account, open PubMed@SJMC and simply login to MyNCBI to access your saved bibliographies or request full text articles.

Sanford Guide Anywhere

  • Go to Sanford Guide SSO Login on your internet Browser. (https://web.sanfordguide.com/login-sso)
  • Sign in through your institution and Find St. Joseph’s Medical Center-Stockton
  • Log in with your CommonSpirit Health email and Password -
  • Enter the code received via OKTA verify app.

UpToDate Anywhere

  • Register for a personal account on UpToDate  from a computer connected to the Commonspirit Health network.
  • If you have already registered, simply log in anywhere for remote access.
    • Please note that you must log in on the Commonspirit Health network every 90 days to maintain uninterrupted access to UpToDate

Wiley Medicine and Nursing Collection

  1. Create your personal Wiley account Wiley Online Library using CSH networked computer.
  2. OR go to Wiley Online Library on your internet browser and  click on "Insitutional login" and
  3. Click "Sign in with your OpenAthens Account" and Find St. Joseph's Medical Center
  4. Sign into OKTA or OpenAthens for remote access
